Stain Busters commenced operations in 1990, over 33 years ago and it is still owned by the founders Paddy and Pam Sweeney. It began under the name 'Spruce Up and Sparkle'.
At the time there were many stains they could not remove such as coffee, red wine, animal urine, curries, medicines, paint and dozens of other nasties that are found on carpets.
This was a totally frustrating situation. They searched throughout Australia and later worldwide for treatments to remove the stains they couldn’t remove, all to no avail. Totally unsatisfied but determined to work out how to find remedies, Paddy studied chemistry and started experimenting.
It took over 3 years, slowly at first but progress was made and answers were found to remove the most difficult stains. The name was changed to Stain Busters and franchising began.
