It commenced back in 2008, when Driving Miss Daisy founder Melanie Harper started driving her Aunt Trish to appointments in Havelock North, New Zealand. Trish no longer drove herself and she enjoyed the companionship of Melanie driving her to appointments

Melanie soon realised that there were many other people like her Aunt Trish who would love to have a companion driver they could trust. She launched the Driving Miss Daisy service and went on to build a flourishing brand in New Zealand, Australia and the UK that has now provided close on 2 million companion journeys to the elderly, people living with disabilities and children.

Here in Australia, Driving Miss Daisy under the direction of two highly respected franchise professionals in Stanley Zets and Alan Branch Today, we have franchises operating in many areas of New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and Conberra with new franchises opening regularly across Australia.

Our companion driving service offers passengers safe, friendly assistance for their daily needs – pick up and return. Peace of mind every time.

The Package

I recently needed assistance in transporting my Dad from Wollongong to Lake Conjola and returning him home on the same day for my sister’s wedding. I approached Bethany of the Driving Miss Daisy Wollongong Central for help. Bethany was an amazing individual and was so attentive to looking after my elderly Dad for the day. She was extremely thoughtful, caring and just couldn’t do enough for my Dad and our family on the day. Initially after making a booking with her, she called back and offered to come and meet with my Dad before the day he needed to be driven to the wedding, so that he would be comfortable and have a familiar face when she came to collect him. Bethany also rang a couple of days prior to the wedding and offered to be a back up for us whilst she was on site, to help where ever needed. She held jackets, umbrella’s, took pictures and video’s of the wedding party and was there at the ready when Dad just needed support and assistance when we couldn’t. When our Dad was ready to be driven home, Bethany got Dad home and then made sure we were notified he had gotten home and was settled. Bethany was like a breath of fresh air in what is usually a rather stressful event, and we all felt so amazed and comforted that Dad was in such great care. I would have no hesitation with working with Bethany again or recommending her to anyone else requiring Driving Miss Daisy services.
