Australian Franchising Code of Conduct review underway

The Australian Government is currently conducting a Franchising Code Review. The Franchisee Survey will remain open until 20 October 2023.

The Australian Government is inviting current and former franchisees to respond to this survey to inform the review of the Franchising Code.

The review will also examine the roles of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and the Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman in franchising regulation.

This is the latest in a series of Franchising Code reviews, the most recent being the 2019 Parliamentary Joint Committee's "Fairness in Franchising" report on the Australian franchising sector which led to significant changes to the Code.

Submissions can be made to franchisingreview@treasury.gov.au. The closing date for submissions is 20 October 2023.
